Capital Campaign:

Would your memories of fraternity be nearly as special without ‘the house?’

Would your bond to those you stayed close with for all the years since, be as solid?

If you’re like so many of us, the answer is an emphatic NO! Our fraternity house was an intricate part of our years at DU and the friendships we kept since. It was our center. The place where we bonded. The place we went before and after just about everything. Where we lived and shared some of our most special and revered moments at college.

When you share your favorite moments with ZBT/Phi Sig... How many were ‘at the house?’

Many of our younger brothers were not as fortunate. Since 1991 we did not have a fraternity house. And from 1992 to 2004, we didn’t even have a chapter. But that’s all changing now. Thanks to a great deal of hard work and support from both active and alumni brothers, Iota Chapter has been reborn and 1959 South Columbine is ours once again!

WE NEED YOUR HELP

There is stiff competition attracting incoming students. Lambda Chi and Kappa Sig have built new houses. The University has opened new sophomore dormitories. The Iota Columbine house is ours again, but it needs work. Some renovations were made this past summer prior to our return. With further renovation and improvements, our fraternity house can become competitive with these new facilities and provide our youngest brothers the opportunity to draw the best of men into our chapter and once again have a viable place to live and become the ‘center’ and the glue of bonded brotherhood. Yes. This is a campaign to raise funds. This is a campaign to gain the financial support from Iota Chapter Alumni needed to put 1959 Columbine ‘back in order!’ And yes. This letter is only the beginning of the campaign. Our campaign starts with our solicitation for tax-deductible donations made to the University of Denver which owns the property and includes unique naming opportunities enabling you or groups of brothers to be remembered and acknowledged in a very special way, by all who pass through the house in future years. Below is a pledge form, listing those opportunities as well as a detailed explanation of the program. We urge you to read through it and act soon. Our renovations will begin as soon as we start receiving funds.

A highlight of our campaign will be a celebration and re-dedication of our newly owned chapter house at 1959 Columbine that will be held the weekend of October 8th - 10th. For those who did not join our reunions in 1993, 2003 or 2008, you really must come. Reviving the connections and bonds that were so strong and memorable is simply an awesome experience. You will be hearing more about that over the next few months. We will also be reaching out to you, not only seeking your financial support, but your assistance in reaching others. Please… help us find our lost brothers. Forward this letter to those you know did not receive it and send us their e-mail address. Help us make this a campaign that truly re-unites and re-bonds us all.

We are pleased to report that due to the generosity of some brothers we already have pledges of nearly $100,000 towards our goal of $250,000. Our needs are great and so is the legacy of the many ZBT and Phi Sig brothers who have passed through our chapter’sdoors. Think about how much your years at ZBT/Phi Sig meant in your life and give that potential to the young men who follow. Join us. Make your pledge today and become an important connection to the hundreds of brothers who are a part of our heritage at DU and those who follow us.
